Review widget (stars, voice, photo and a QR code on the table)
A review widget gives the guests of a venue one short page where they can rate the visit. In Bugfix the guest scans a QR code on the table, puts from 1 to 5 stars and adds text, voice or a photo. The owner receives the review in Telegram together with the context of the visit: table, hall and waiter.

What the review widget collects
The review widget takes a rating in stars from 1 to 5, a text, a voice message and a photo. Together with the review it saves the context of the visit:
- the table and the hall;
- the waiter;
- the time of the visit;
- the identifier of the device.
The context stays attached to the review, so the owner reads not only what the guest wrote but also where and when it happened.
From a QR code on the table to the review page
A QR code on the table leads to a review page. The address of the page has the form /r/?v=<venue>&t=<table-number>, where the first parameter names the venue and the second names the table.
Behind the page stands a directory of venues. It holds the links to the review platforms, the maps, and a map of the tables. The reply of the venue to a guest is written in the system and appears for the guest on the same QR page.
One invitation for every rating: center version 44
Since version 44 of the Bugfix center, a guest sees the same screen and the same invitation to leave a review on the maps whatever the rating is. Earlier the invitation was shown only after 4 and 5 stars. It was removed because such filtering, known as gating, contradicts the rules of the platforms.
The widget therefore does not choose who is invited. A guest with a low rating and a guest with a high rating get the same page.
What the venue owner receives
The review widget sends the owner three things.
- A Telegram message. The review arrives in the owner's own bot. If the bot did not accept the message, it comes by a fallback route.
- A reminder for low ratings. For ratings of 1 to 3 stars the notification reminds the owner to reply to the guest within an hour.
- A task. A rating of 1 to 3 stars automatically turns into a task for the owner, “reply to the guest”, with the context of the visit: table, hall and waiter.
The task is an internal priority of the reply. It has no effect on who is invited to the maps.
Where the review widget is used
- A table in a venue. The guest scans the code at the table, opens the review page and writes the review there.
- A complaint that needs an answer. A guest leaves a low rating. The owner sees the task with the table and the waiter, replies in the system, and the guest reads the answer on the same page.
- Reviews on the maps. Every guest, whatever the rating, gets the same invitation to write on the maps from the venue directory.
Limits and rules of the review widget
- Anti-spam rules: no more than one review every 30 seconds, up to 5 reviews per hour, and up to 60 per hour for one venue.
- The invitation to the maps is the same for all ratings. The widget does not hide it for low ratings and does not promote it for high ones.
- The reply priority for ratings of 1 to 3 stars is internal. It is a task for the owner and does not change what the guest sees.
Frequently asked questions
Does the review widget invite only satisfied guests to the maps?
No. Since version 44, a guest with any rating sees the same screen and the same invitation to leave a review on the maps. Before that the invitation was shown only for 4 and 5 stars. It was removed because filtering of this kind contradicts the rules of the platforms.
What happens when a guest leaves 1 to 3 stars?
The Telegram notification reminds the owner to reply within an hour, and a task “reply to the guest” is created with the table, hall and waiter. This is an internal priority and does not affect who is invited to the maps.
What limits protect the widget from spam?
No more than one review every 30 seconds, up to 5 reviews per hour, and up to 60 per hour for one venue.
